LOCAL MS Laura Anne Jones has marked Welsh Wine Week by highlighting the success of Monmouthshire’s thriving wine industry and praising local producers such as White Castle Vineyard and who are also celebrating their one year opening anniversary.
Monmouthshire is home to a number of Welsh wine producers, including White Castle Vineyard, Sugar Loaf Vineyard, Parva Farm Vineyard, The Dell Vineyard and Ancre Hill Estates, with local vineyards like white castle offering tours, tastings and opportunities for visitors to discover the excellent wines being produced in the country.
The local MS said: “Welsh Wine Week is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the incredible vineyards and producers we have here in Wales.
“I was fortunate enough to visit White Castle Vineyard last year and see firsthand the passion, dedication and hard work that goes into producing high quality Welsh wines.”
Ms Jones added:
“Business like White Castle Vineyard are helping put Monmouthshire and Wales on the map. They are creating jobs, attracting visitors and showcasing the very best of Welsh produce.
Their success demonstrates what can be achieved when local businesses are given the opportunity to grow and thrive.”

Welsh Wine Week is celebrated from May 29 to June 7 and brings together winemakers, vineyards and producers to showcase quality, diversity and the ongoing growing representation of Welsh wine.
This week doesn’t just celebrate the making of wine in Wales but it highlights the craftsmanship which goes into making it for people to enjoy all around Wales.
