SIR, I am sure someone knows someone who would be perfect for this. Love people, love dancing? The Tea Dance at Bridges is looking to train someone special to ensure that the tea dances continue for years to come. If you enjoy working with physically and mentally vulnerable people of all ages, are someone who can make everyone feel welcome and cared for and you are a good organiser this could be a brilliant opportunity. Being a good organiser is important as you will be coordinating the volunteers and will be responsible for everything running smoothly. It helps if you are passionate about your community and happy to work with many agencies, to organise fundraising, marketing and PR. All this is a voluntary commitment of eight hours a week. The link between music dancing and health has been proved time and time again as good for us, it isn't just a social experience it's physically and mentally uplifting. If you are the right person to be trained and take over the role for the tea dance you will be given a free training programme that will run for approximately 3.5 hours a week until such time as is needed. There will also be the opportunity to pursue funding. At present this is an unpaid post but there are good opportunities for the right person to help make this a salaried position. The post is supported by a committee. Please note you do not need a formal dance qualification, just to feel comfortable on a dance floor. The dancing is organised and led by a qualified dance instructor.
