A mayoral award for making Monmouth a better place to live was given by Cllr David Evans at the end of his 12 months in office.
Marianne Piper, a Volunteer Co-ordinator at Bridges was honoured with such an award last week.
She said: “I was very surprised and really delighted to have received a Mayors award. I’m lucky enough to work with many people every day that make a huge difference to our lovely town. They help in social groups, befriend older people, drive people to appointments, support young people with disabilities, and so much more – the volunteers I work with really deserve all the recognition as they are simply fantastic and make my job a very happy one!”
