VE celebrations took place at St Jame Community Hall on Saturday to commemorate 80 years since WW2 finished. A great community event took place with fishpaste sandwiches and other delights all to the wonderful playing of David Hoyle.

The children played pass the parcel and musical chairs. While the adults tried their luck on the tombola stall. A family quiz kept everyone enthralled while singing and dancing took place in the hall.

The mayor Councillor David Evans helped with the raffle and led the communal singing. The raffle raised £200.00 this is to be donated to the Royal British Legion.

Children from Kymin View Primary School had an exhibition of painted stones marking VE day. Each stone had the child’s name on one side while the other side depicted a picture from of the war.

A very big thank you to all who attended and to everyone who gave their time and prizes for the raffle. Great fun was had by all.
