SIR,

Monmouthshire County Council (MCC) sold Dixton Clinic to developers and granted access to the development via The Burgage.

Are the developers laughing at us all – the citizens of Monmouth, the Town Council, the County Council and the Welsh Government?

We are talking about a street which is a busy throughfare three times a day, and is a cul-de-sac.

No-one with common sense would open a school's back entrance onto a building operation – especially when the said property is sitting directly next to a main road with straightforward access.

Who is behind such a mammoth forked tongue?

We are paying tax to these people who do not protect us.

It is not difficult for an architect to realign a plan to suit the area and all parties concerned.

Why has this simply not been accomplished or even been attempted?

MCC have you been caught sleeping or will you rise like the mighty Welsh dragon and resurrect your original demands and assessments on the grounds of safety for the children, residents and the many users of The Burgage and Old Dixton Road?
