SIR, As Chair of the Gwent Appeal of ABF The Soldiers' Charity, through the Beacon I wish to thank and express my admiration to Emma King for her sterling fundraising and personal commitment to The Soldiers' Charity. Emma is a great example to us all – no matter which charity we support – of the ability of the committed individual to make a difference. Emma's terrific fundraising, achieved through sponsoring of her individual challenges, by her colleagues at the Spirit of Monmouth Running Club and her employer, Barclays Bank with matched funding, will contribute greatly to the support The Soldiers' Charity gives to serving and former soldiers of the Regular and Reserve Army and their families who may have fallen on hard times. On Saturday 10th May, through the generous support of our own Misbah Tandoori, the 'Best in South Wales', The Soldiers' Charity will be holding a BIG CURRY lunch at the Castle, Monmouth. Gathering at 12.30pm at the Castle & Regimental Museum to view the new First World War exhibition, followed by refreshments in the Castle Keep, the yummy BIG CURRY will be in Great Castle House. Should any reader of the Beacon and their family and friends wish to join us, please book in through http://www.soldierscharity.org/events/event-item/big-curry-lunch-wales">http://www.soldierscharity.org/events/event-item/big-curry-lunch-wales, or contact me on [email protected]">[email protected] Andrew Tuggey (Chair, ABF The Soldiers' Charity Gwent Appeal)
