On behalf of Monmouth Rotary Club I would like to thank you very much for the kind donation of £300, raised by the Beacon and its advertisers, towards our recent Japanese Quake Appeal.
Your contribution helped increase the total collected to just under £1,400.
This has enabled us to purchase three Shelterboxes to replace ones sent to Japan on the first day of the disaster.
Each large, green Shelterbox contains a disaster relief tent for an extended family – blankets, water storage and purification equipment, cooking utensils, a stove, a basic tool kit, a children's activity pack and other vital items.
