Superdrug opened its doors for the first time since the devastating flooding of Storm Claudia last November.

Deputy Mayor Cllr Rob Barrell was there to cut the ribbon and declare the shop officially reopened.

“Everybody in Monmouth appreciates the fact that people are working hard to get the shops reopened and get the customers back in to the town so that the shops can feed off each other,” he said.

Korena Boiserson, Regional General Manager told the Beacon that the whole pharmacy has moved to further inside the store “and we have a full GP consultation room now.

“We used to have a gap in the middle of the store, that has gone now so everything has been refitted: Everyting has come out and everything has gone back in.”

New look to the store

It has been issuing prescriptions from a portable cabin outside the store since January, but that will now be removed in an emergency closure of Monnow Street tonight from 7pm onwards.
