A young Monmouth sprinter has set personal bests in two major athletics events.
Ryan Lee, who turns 15 next month, ran at the Welsh Athletics Indoor Championships on 23rd January, held at the National Indoor Athletics Centre (NIAC) in Cardiff.
Competing in the Under 17s age group for the first time, Ryan ran a personal best time of 24.24 seconds in the 200 metre heat, finishing first, and 24.32 seconds in the final, finishing fourth.
In the 60 metre heat, Ryan finished fourth with a time of 7.63 seconds. In the final, he again finished fourth with a personal best of 7.53 seconds.
To reach both finals was above what his coach expected from Ryan's first indoor competition.
Last Sunday (30th January), Ryan ran in an Under 16 Celtic Schools International, also at Cardiff's NIAC.
