SIR,
For the second time in recent months I have had to leave Waterstone's in Cardiff because of the background 'musac'.
When I complained to the couple on the pay desk that I could not concentrate on reading the book covers, they appeared not to understand what I was complaining about.
Another customer, hearing my complaint, intervened in my support, but we were fobbed off with the usual "we will pass on your comments".
I had made a mental note of the book in which I was interested and came home to order it from a local bookshop, one where the staff dislike this sort of pollution as much as I do – something that I should have done in the first place.
