Concern is growing for a Monmouth woman who has been missing from her home for more than a week.
Maureen McMeeking was last seen on Tuesday 23rd October at the Co-operative supermarket in Monmouth and there has been only one unconfirmed sighting of her since.
Gwent Police, who are appealing for help finding Maureen, are concerned for her well being.
Maureen is described as being about five feet four tall and of small build. She has shoulder length dark hair and brown eyes.
Last Tuesday she was known to be wearing a dark coloured leather jacket with a cardigan underneath, a red scarf, dark jeans and dark shoes or boots.
Maureen's family told the Beacon there had been one possible sighting of her walking through Monmouth.
The witness thinks she saw Maureen dressed as described above, but with her trousers covered in mud, near Coffee No1 at about 10am last Friday (26th October).
Maureen's handbag, purse and mobile phone have also been found near to the River Monnow.
The Severn Area Rescue Association (SARA) were called in to help with the search at 7pm on the evening of the 27th and continued to help police cover the rivers the following day.
A team of specialist divers were also seen yesterday near the Co-op store.
