HABERDASHERS’ Monmouth School releases a new film showcasing the town’s heritage, landscape and community spirit, voiced by Escape to the Country presenter and school parent Jules Hudson.

As the Michaelmas term draws to a close and their students prepare for the festive season, they are delighted to share a new film celebrating the remarkable place we are privileged to call home.

Created to showcase the character and quiet splendour of Monmouth, the film celebrating the remarkable place we are privileged to call home.

Created to showcase the character and quiet splendour pf Monmouth, the film captures the town’s rich heritage and enduring charm. From the historic streets that welcomed the birth of Charles Rolls, co-founder of Rolls Royce, Monmouth’s story is one of courage, innovation and deep-rooted pride.

Set against sweeping views from the Kymin and the serene flow of the River Wye, the film celebrates not only the natural beauty of the town but also the warmth of its people. It’s little wonder Monmouth is consistently recognised as one of the happiest places to live in the UK.

The school is especially grateful to Jules Hudson, escape to the Country presenter, parent of a pupil at the school, and longstanding friend of the community who filmed the voice over of the film.

The community spirit has been especially evident in the most recent weeks. Despite the town facing significant flooding after the film was made, the response within the community has been inspiring. With characteristic determination, shops and businesses have reopened; neighbours have supported one another. While some still face challenges, the heart of Monmouth beats as strongly as ever.

In sharing this film, they hope to shine a light on the everyday moments of joy, connection and belonging that define both the town and their school.
