Llangattock School welcomes the opportunity to provide further information regarding its planning application for the property known as Rowancroft, and to address some misconceptions that have arisen in recent discussions and local news reports.
For over twenty years, Llangattock School Monmouth has proudly provided a nurturing, child-centred education within the local community. The independent school, which teaches pupils from ages 3 to 19, is known for its small class sizes and highly individualised approach to learning.
As demand for places continues to grow, the school is seeking to create additional space to support its existing provision and ensure that children continue to benefit from the personalised education on offer. We would like to clarify that in a recent report in the Monmouthshire Beacon suggesting the proposed site would be used specifically for children who have been expelled or excluded from other schools due to behaviour are incorrect.
Llangattock School Monmouth supports and welcomes children with a wide range of learning needs and strengths, including many who thrive in a smaller, more nurturing educational environment. Our pupils are valued members of our school community. The proposed use of Rowancroft is intended to provide additional learning space for a small number of pupils already within the Llangattock School community. This would help relieve pressure on the existing site while maintaining the close, personalised approach that families value. We recognise that local residents may have questions about the proposal, and we understand the importance of open communication. We are committed to working positively with our neighbours and to ensuring that concerns are heard and addressed.
The school remains committed to contributing positively to local life and looks forward to continuing a constructive dialogue with local residents throughout the planning process so that the needs of both pupils and the local community are appropriately addressed.
