While most of us were still indulging over the festive period, Will Rogers travelled South for Camarthen Motor Clubs annual Christmas Stages held at Pembrey near Llanelli.
Teaming up with Pete Williams, the duo were using one of Terry Brown's BDA Escorts, ice and snow had given way to damp slippery tarmac, as the capacity entry lined up for the 70 stage miles.
The first two stages were spent getting used to the more powerful BDA-engined machine.
Stage 3 saw their only real incident of the day, when they tried to re-arrange the Escort against some stout tractor tyres. This cost them around 40 seconds.
The final two tests passed without dramas and they were pleased to finish 24th, second in class, although they were beaten to top class honours by team-mates Cathy Williams and daughter Angharad (Terry Brown's daughter and granddaughter) in the other BDA Escort from the Brown stable, taking 18th and first in class.
"It's been a good day and blown the cobwebs away, good result for the team," said Rogers.
His attention now turns to the Red Kite Stages in a couple of weeks' time before his home event the Team GMF Wyedean Stages on 12th February.
