Dog walkers gathered on Vauxhall Fields last Friday (7th October) to demonstrate against the closure of the Inglis Bridge to vehicles.
The Beacon revealed the Army was planning to close the bridge two weeks ago.
Duncan Rands, of the Reserve Forces' and Cadets' Association for Wales, will be speaking about the bridge at the next planning meeting on 7th November, held at the Shire Hall.
Attending will be Monmouth Town and County Councillors as well as officers from Monmouthshire County Council. He has pledged not to close the bridge until discussions and consultation has taken place.
