I was interested to read Gareth Dunn's letter in the Beacon (16th November) regarding Monmouth's recycling provision.

Caerphilly County Borough Council provides each household with a green wheelie bin for general refuse, emptied fortnightly; a brown one for all recycling; two containers for food waste; and green bags for garden trimmings which are all collected weekly.

The system works well with the odd hiccup during bad weather.
