MORE shops are continuing to reopen on Monnow Street following the devastating impact of Storm Claudia last November.

Handyman House were forced to close its doors on November 15 after floodwater swept through the store. On July 19, the business shared a video on Facebook confirming the business has reopened to customers.

The shop now has a new outdoor area, a full refurbishment and the team welcomes customers back after being closed for several months.

Car Care was also affected by the flooding but reopened on Saturday July 11 with a ribbon cutting opening by the Mayor of Monmouth, Councillor Rob Barrell. Vision Express held a tombola outside the shopfront with all proceedings raised going towards Bridges Community Centre and Artisan bakery Alex Gooch, also on the high street, have recently welcomed customers back into their shop.

The reopening’s mark another step forward in the community as businesses continue returning in the town.
