Monmouth 1st XI's promotion charge was halted by rain on the weekend as their encounter with Hagley was abandoned at tea time.
With Hagley winning the toss and deciding to field, Monmouth struggled with the excellent bowling of John Porter (5-65) as they collapsed to 89-5.
Josh Grey (30) found a willing partner in skipper Dan Head (45 no) as they pushed on to finish on 201 for 9. However, the rain arrived at tea and the captain shook hands.
