On Saturday 30th November Chepstow Leisure Centre got into the Christmas spirit by holding a Charity Christmas Quiz.
40 teams entered the competition, with around 240 people taking part. The event was sponsored by Dan Hines PPT fitness and all the Leisure Centre staff gave up their time for free to enable the event to go ahead.
A lot of hard work from everyone went into transforming the sports hall into a winter wonderland with decorations.
Nataley Simpson, pictured, provided live music with guitar playing throughout the evening in between the quiz. The quiz and raffle raised money for the British Heart Foundation and Chepstow Ladies Netball team.
Out of the 40 teams that entered Strictly Dancing won on a tie break question after finishing on the same total as Gwent Sword Club B. Angela Fryer from Angel School of Dance was the winning team captain and was thrilled to be presented with the trophy and the accolade of 'The Brainiest Team in Chepstow'.
Katie Smith from Chepstow Ladies Netball team said: "It was a fantastic evening where every one had great fun and raised lots of money for two fantastic causes'.
Special mention from the organisers goes to 'King' Barry Watson who did a fantastic job as quiz master and all the organisations that donated prizes including Bristol Rugby Club, Newport Rugby Club, Pontypool Rugby Club, Cardiff Devils Hockey, Celtic Manor, Dan Hines Personal Training fitness, Country Clutter, Bargain Booze in Bulwark, Chepstow Leisure Centre and countless individuals who donated prizes.
Helen Dymond, Leisure Centre Manager said: "It was brilliant to see the local community coming together and having a superb time and raise so much money for good causes".
