SIR, Whilst it is very good news that the Welcome Centre has been cancelled due to lack of funds, it begs the question of why this has now come to light. No credible and financially literate organisation would incur the huge costs of consultants, architects fees and feasibility studies before knowing whether or not funding was available. Of course it is public money from Council tax papers so I suppose it is as unimportant as consulting the people who live here whether or not they wanted the it in the first place.
