PLAID Cymru has selected Jonathan T Clark as its candidate for the Monmouth constituency for the forthcoming National Assembly Westminster Elections.

Jonathan Clark said: "I am very pleased to have been selected to contest Monmouth constituency at the National Assembly Election in May 2016. For too long the people of Monmouth have suffered from the fact that whoever is in power, they have all failed to consider the economic and social needs of the people of this constituency.

“The electors of Monmouth need an AM who will actually put the real concerns of the electors of Monmouth to the forefront. Wales needs a new government to end Labour’s legacy of failure. Plaid can provide the competent, compassionate leadership needed to strengthen our NHS and create and share more wealth."

Stuart Neale, Plaid Cymru Monmouth Constituency Committee Chair said: “Plaid Cymru - Monmouth Constituency is very pleased to have Jonathan T Clark as their candidate for the 2016 Welsh general election. Jonathan has spent months and months in past years working as a candidate in the constituency and has raised the vote for Plaid Cymru at a number of elections. He works very hard in keeping a profile for the constituency in the press and other media, and leads the way with supporters on the doorstep to win votes for the party of Wales. He has clear ideas on many of the issues relevant to Monmouth constituency.”

Jocelyn Davies AM said: “I have known Jonathan Clark for a long time and know that he is a man of integrity and commitment to Wales. He has campaigned and worked on behalf of Plaid Cymru in Monmouthshire over many years and has a real understanding of the wide range of issues including fuel poverty, rural housing costs and poor public transport that hit hard in a rural constituency such as Monmouth.”

Lyndsay Whittle AM said: “Jonathan is particularly concerned about the state of our NHS, rising energy costs, poor public transport, the lack of affordable housing and the costly Severn Bridge tolls. The voters of Monmouth by supporting Jonathan at the next election can send a message to Cardiff that they can no longer ignore the needs of the people of Monmouth constituency.“
