A series of significant planning applications have been submitted to Monmouthshire County Council, including two proposals involving Grade II listed barns and a major renewable‑energy scheme.
At Manor House Farm, Churchmead, Rogiet, two separate applications seek consent to convert historic listed barns into residential homes. Application DM/2026/00202 proposes the conversion and a single‑storey extension of a Grade II listed barn to create two dwellings, including the addition of eight new rooflights.
A second application, DM/2026/00201, outlines further conversion, alteration and extension works to another Grade II listed barn on the site. This scheme includes landscaping, parking provision and the construction of an ancillary store to serve the new homes. Both applications require Listed Building Consent, reflecting the protected status of the structures.
Separately, a large‑scale renewable energy development has been put forward for Trostrey Common, Gwehelog (NP15 1HT). Application DM/2026/00103 seeks permission to install a 3.9MW solar array along with associated infrastructure. The site lies on or near a public right of way, meaning the proposal is classed as development affecting public access.
Full details of all applications are available on the council’s planning website. Representations must be submitted within 21 days of the notice’s publication to [email protected].
Goodrich footpath closed due to landslip risk
Herefordshire Council has issued a temporary closure of Public Footpath GR42 in Goodrich following concerns over a potential landslip. The closure affects the route between grid references SO 5744 1947 and SO 5755 2020, and officials have confirmed that no alternative path is available during the restriction.
The Order, which came into force on March 10 , is expected to remain in place for up to six months unless extended by the Secretary of State. It will end earlier if the risks are resolved or if the council determines the closure is no longer necessary.
Residents seeking further information can view the full order and accompanying plan on the Herefordshire Council website.
