Monmouth Town Council have been informed about an order to temporarily close a section of St James Street, Monmouth from April 7 for two days.
The closure will be from its junction with Wyebridge Street to its junction with St James Square and temporarily suspend the Resident Permit/Time Limited Parking Bays on St James Street, Monmouth, Monmouthshire.
Parking Bays to be suspended from Buchanan House to No.24 St James Street and from No 3 to No 17 St James Street.
The order is necessary for telecommunication installation works to take place in a safe manner at the location. It is anticipated that the works will take place between 7th April 2026 and 9th April 2026 operating between 09:00-15:00. Reasonable access will be maintained for properties fronting the affected lengths of road during the period of the closure.
A signed diversionary route will be in place as follows:
Diversion Route A: A40, A466 Dixton Road, A466 Monk Street, A466 Whitecross Street, A466 St James Square.
Diversion Route B: A40, B4293 Beech Road, B4293 Portal Road, B4293 Cinderhill Street, B4293 Blestium Street, B4293 Monnow Street, B4293 Agincourt Square, B4293 Priory Street, A466 Monk Street, A466 Whitecross Street, A466 St James Square.
Diversion Route C: A40, Wyebridge Street, Almshouse Street, Glendower Street, St Johns Street, B4293 Monnow Street, B4293 Blestium Street, B4293 Cinderhill Street, A40, A466 Dixton Road, A466 Monk Street, A466 Whitecross Street, A466 St James Square.
Diversion Route D: 40, B4293 Beech Road, B4293 Portal Road, B4293 Cinderhill Street, B4293 Blestium Street, B4293 Monnow Street, Agincourt Street, Glendower Street, Almshouse Street.
