A SECTION of R42 Beiliau Wood to Pen Yr Heol in Monmouthshire will be closed on Monday, August 24 to allow essential works by Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water.
The temporary order, issued by Monmouthshire County Council, will come into force at 8am and remain in place until 4pm, with the full closure expected to last only for the day despite the legal notice permitting up to 18 months if required.
The affected stretch, approximately 250 metres and located around 420 metres from its junction with Waste Road, will shut to ensure the works could be carried out safely. Reasonable access for residents was maintained throughout the closure period.
A signed diversion will be implemented via Waste Road, Bryngwyn Road, Raglan Road and R42 Penrhos Farm to Beiliau Wood.
