Two public footpath diversions in Undy have now formally come into effect, following certification by Monmouthshire County Council under Section 257 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990.

The council confirmed the Public Footpath No.15 (Part) Undy Diversion Order 2023 on Thursday, May 4, after first making the order on Wednesday, March 1.

A council inspection on Saturday, July 8 found that “an alternative footpath to the existing path described in Part 1 had been created to the reasonable satisfaction of the Authority”, allowing the diversion to take effect from that date.

A second diversion, the Public Footpath No.16 (Part) Undy Diversion Order 2023, was made on Wednesday, July 19 and confirmed on Wednesday, August 30.

The same inspection on Saturday, July 8 verified that the required works had been completed, enabling this diversion to also come into force.
