PT Pilates have filled all available places for its Pilates Reformerthon, a fundraising event supporting St David’s Hospice.

144 places have now been secured across the 24 Reform Pilates classes in 24 hours, three weeks before the event is due to take place.

The businesses have also raised £6,417 for St David’s Hospice Care against their original £5,000 target which means they have reached 127 per cent of their target.

Founder of PT Pilates, Jane Gambarini, said: “When we first sat down with St David’s Hospice Care and put a stake in the ground of £5,000, it felt hugely ambitious. To have not only exceeded it, but to have 144 people committed to keeping our reformers moving for 24 hours, including throughout the night with some planning classes in their pyjamas has been quite overwhelming.”

The event is also receiving support across Monmouthshire. Councillor Tudor Thomas, Chair of Monmouthshire County Council, will officially open the Reformerthon, with Emma Saysell MBE, Chief Executive of St David’s Hospice Care who is also attending.

Catherine Fookes MP for Monmouthshire will also be attending and taking part, while Cllr Tony Kear is showing his support by joining them for one of their more challenging time slots, a 4am Reformer class.

“It really has become a community event, bringing together our PT Pilates clients, local businesses, friends and families, alongside representatives from across the county, all to support the incredible work of St David’s Hospice Care,” added Jane.

The Reformerthon is taking place on September 12 at their Usk Studio where they will be teaching 24 Reformer Pilates classes back-to-back over 24 hours with an aim of bringing together local businesses, sports clubs, instructors, trainees, clients and members of the wider community to raise funds for their chosen charity.
