A GOVERNMENT Planning Inspector has rejected plans to build 24 apartments on the site of the former clinic in Dixton Road in Monmouth.

Nationally known building firm, Redcliffe Homes Ltd, launched an appeal against the refusal of Monmouthshire County Council to give consent to the scheme.

However, after a planning inquiry into the appeal, the Inspector, Mr A. D. Poulter, upheld the County Council's decision.
