Readers may have noticed that the drinking water fountain at Blestium Street has been removed. No need to worry that the fountain has been stolen, and that our reputation for being one of the best towns in which to reside is misplaced. Rather, it has been deliberately removed to protect it from frost damage during the winter months. It will be re-installed in March for the benefit of passing residents, visiting tourists and thirsty dogs, whilst also continuing to reduce our use of plastics.

The ‘Green Wall’ has been planted with winter flowering plants. These will remain until they are changed for summer flowering ones in May next year, dependent on funds becoming available. Our appeal for funds to finance the flowers is on-going. For details of how to donate Online, please visit www.rotarymonmouth.com and follow the “Flower Wall” link.
