Whilst the Monmouth electoral constituency has often been considered a naturally safe seat for Conservatives, a new poll suggests differently.

Many polls have indicated public frustration and anger at the 20 Downing Street parties and the prime ministers handling of it, but a new poll has indicated that the Conservatives could lose up to 163 seats, some of which are considered ’safe’.Data from global market research and political polling company Redfield and Wilton Strategies was collated into constituencies by a data consultancy called Electoral Calculusm. It illustrated that if the election were to be held today, the Labour Party would have a 64 per cent chance of winning the seat from incumbent Conservative MP David Davies. He was elected at the 2005 general election, the seat he held in the Welsh Assembly. He defeated the sitting Labour MP Huw Edwards by 4,527 votes. It must be noted that this is only one poll and should not be taken as comprehensive data.
