AN ONGOING Chepstow appeal was featured on national television last week as police still search for information.
BBC One’s Crimewatch last Thursday (14th June) featured a re-appeal to catch the driver of a van who left a man in a coma and failed to stop at the scene.
On 17th February this year John Conibeer (pictured) was a passenger in a car when it crashed into a wall in Pwllmeyric near Chepstow. He managed to get out of the vehicle but while waiting in the road he was hit by a dark coloured Transit van who failed to stop at the scene. John was severely injured and left for dead as the van sped away.
On the show, Crimewatch Roadshow Live heard from John, who is still in hospital. The programme also heard from his dad about how devastating the incident has been for the whole family. Detectives are hoping that someone will recognise the van from CCTV or be able to provide information to identify the driver.
If you have any information on the crime, contact Gwent Police on 101 quoting log 44 17/02/18.
