Reforms Laura Anne Jones MS has slammed Plaid Cymru’s first 100 days in government, warning that Wales has seen “more of the same failure” rather than the change voters were promised.

Plaid Cymru marked its first 100 days in government claiming it had laid the foundations for long-term change. But since taking office, NHS waiting lists have grown by nearly 9,000, while the unemployment rate in Wales has also risen sharply.

The latest figures show the unemployment rate in Wales rising by 1.1 percentage points on the previous quarter.

The Reform Member for Monmouthshire and Torfaen, commented: “Plaid promised Wales a new beginning, with more action and less talk. Yet, after 100 days we have see no action and more talk; a Plaid Welsh Government obsessed with more reviews, more committees and more plans, instead of taking the urgent long-awaited action that Wales is crying out for, after nearly three decades of failure by Labour who left Wales behind and underdelivering on nearly every front.

“People need an NHS that enables them to see a Doctor, a Dentist and provides timely healthcare, an economy that creates good jobs and a government focused on taking action on the everyday issues affecting struggling families and businesses across Wales.”

“Reform will keep holding this Welsh Government to account every step of the way. Wales cannot afford four more years of excuses. People deserve an opposition that will challenge these failures, put forward serious alternatives and fight for the communities that have been ignored for far too long and we will continue to do that, until we have the chance to deliver oursleves.
