GCSE Results Day brought celebrations, nerves and plenty of smiles as students in Monmouth found out how their hard work over the past few years had paid off.

Students arrived with their family and friends to celebrate their achievements, while teachers congratulated them on their hard work.

Pupils now face the decision of what comes next, whether that is continuing at sixth form or pursuing a path at their chosen college.

One student from Monmouth Comprehensive School, said: “I plan on staying here for sixth form to study Performing Arts, English Literature, Art, and Sports Science.

Meanwhile, one parent from Haberdashers’ Monmouth School was pleased that his daughter chose to collect her results in person.

“I am really glad that she wanted to get her results as a piece of paper rather than looking at it online and it meant she could share the excitement with her friends.”
