Haberdashers' Monmouth pupils achieved exceptional GCSE results, with a third of all grades at 9-8 (A*), over half at 9-7 (A*-A), and 21 pupils securing nine or more (A*-A) top grades across the broad curriculum.

Pupils at Haberdashers' Monmouth School are celebrating an excellent set of GCSE results, with a third of all grades the equivalent of 9-8 (A*) and over half of all grades 9-7 (A*-A).

High-performing pupils secured exceptional grades across a wide range of academic and creative disciplines, with 21 pupils achieving nine or more 9-7 (A*-A) across their GCSE qualifications.

The results reflect a cohort of exceptionally talented young people whose achievements extend far beyond the classroom. Excelling across Languages, Sciences, Mathematics, Humanities, Sport, Music, Drama and Leadership, they have made their mark on Haberdashers' Monmouth School while achieving outstanding academic success.

Amongst the standout performers were Academic Scholars Charlie N and Archie H, who both achieved eleven grades at 9-7 (A*-A). Alongside academic achievements, Charlie received the Greek Prize at Prize Day, is an active member of the Combined Cadet Force (CCF) and is working towards an Oxbridge application, while Archie, also a Sports Scholar has balanced studies alongside competing at national level in swimming.

A number of students achieved a clean sweep of top grades. Academic Scholar Jasper D, winner of the School's Physics Prize, secured ten grades at 9-8 (A*-A), with eight at grade 9, alongside commitments as a musician and rower. Fellow rowers, Academic Scholar George G, recipient of the Mathematics and Latin Prizes secured 10 grades at 9-7 (A*-A), and Ashley W secured eleven at 9-7 (A*-A), including nine grades at 9-8 (A*). Lowri W, who has attended Haberdashers' Monmouth School since Nursery, achieved an exceptional set of results with all ten grades at 9-8 (A*-A).

Language subjects delivered some of the strongest results of the year, with 66% of grades awarded at 9-7 (A*-A) with Latin students gaining 80% 9-7s (A*-A). Among those contributing to this success were Molly M, who gained ten grades at 9-7 (A*-A), and international boarder Albert Li, who achieved nine grades at 9-7 (A*-A). Academic Scholar Albert was also awarded both the Senior EAL Prize and the Chemistry Peace Project Prize at Prize Day, while contributing to performing arts productions. Fellow international boarder Yanis H secured nine 9-7 (A*-A) and an A* in German.

STEM subjects produced exceptional results, with more than 70% of Biology and Physics grades, and almost two-thirds of Chemistry grades, awarded at 9-7 (A*-A). Amongst those leading the way were Madeleine E, winner of the Biology Prize and the Hiscocks STEM Trophy, achieving nine at 9-8 (A*), alongside holding a British Rowing Indoor Championships record. Drama Scholar Sean M, Chapel Warden and Eisteddfod Senior Recital winner, secured ten grades at 9-7 (A*-A), combining academic success with music, performing arts and CCF commitments.

Seren W achieved an outstanding set of results, securing nine grades at 9-7 (A*-A), including five grade 9s and a Distinction in Further Mathematics. This academic success sits alongside representing the School in First Team Hockey, Cricket and Rugby, serving as Vice-Captain of the U16 Rosslyn Park squad, completing Silver Duke of Edinburgh's Award and taking part in the Army Cadet Force.

Humanities also flourished, with almost 60% of History and Geography grades awarded at 9-7 (A*-A). John G achieved all ten grades at 9-8 (A*), earning prizes in English and Geography whilst excelling as a runner, sports person and member of the School's debating team. Elin P, who achieved eleven grades at 9-7 (A*-A), combined outstanding academic success with being Head of House, First Team Hockey commitments and the Stones and Bones Geography Prize.

Creativity remains a defining strength of a Haberdashers' Monmouth education, with pupils achieving outstanding outcomes across Art, Textiles, Design Technology, Drama and Dance. Half of all Art & Design and Textiles grades were awarded at 9-7 (A*-A). The success of the school's first GCSE Textiles cohort was a particular highlight, reflecting the inspiration and support provided by programme patron Professor Jimmy Choo. Dance BTEC pupils performed exceptionally well, with 60% of all grades awarded at Distinction level, including two pupils, Amy B and boarder Freya M, who achieved the exceptional Distinction* grade.

Leadership, Service and Sport were also central to the story of this year's cohort. Head of House Helena P secured nine grades at 9-7 (A*-A), balancing academic achievement with First Team Netball, continuing a proud family connection as the third Pugh sibling to attend the School. Academic Scholar Haydn M achieved nine grades at 9-7 (A*-A), combining studies with commitments to rowing and the Combined Cadet Force. Academic and Sports Scholar Dev A secured six 9s (A*), an A* in German and a Distinction in Further Mathematics alongside proudly playing for Glamorgan Cricket Club.

As pupils celebrate today's success, many will now continue their journey at Haberdashers' Monmouth School's Sixth Form, taking advantage of the wide range of academic and co-curricular opportunities available to them.
