SIR,
As promised, the Welsh Independent Party has written to Edwina Hart AM to re-open Monmouth Job Centre. You asked the Party to put the letter to the Beacon for printing. The letter reads:
Dear Edwina Hart AM,
Thank you for your letter dated 10th July 2013.
I have written to you on many other occasions concerning the Health Service when you were Minister. I am now Party Leader of The Welsh Independent Party (WIP) since Monmouth Job Centre closed many years ago.
I have had a lot of complaints regarding the closure of Monmouth Job Centre, as people are finding it very hard to get to Abergavenny and can wait as long as two or three hours for a bus back home, having to take children down to the centre as well as the cost.
We, the party members and the public, have decided we want the Job Centre in Monmouth re-opened as soon as possible. There are a lot of people coming to live in Monmouth, thousands more to come, so please tell me why it was shut in the first place. And why you are not listening to what the electors of Monmouth want?
We, as a party, fight for the rights of the people, and the Welsh Government should listen to the people who in the end will decide whether or not to have a Welsh Government, the people will decide at the next election. We will, as a party, produce to you a petition if need be.
I hope you will re-consider re-opening the Job Centre in Monmouth.
Gary Witcombe
(Party Leader)
