A MONMOUTH Comprehensive School student has been selected for the MMA Cymru youth squad and will compete for Wales.
Logan Price, 16, was recently chosen to join the prestigious squad where he will compete alongside other MMA players. In April, he travelled to Dublin, Ireland to represent Wales in the Irish Youth MMA Open, with two very close fights.
His selection has been recognised from his efforts of strong performances and fights. In April, Logan competed in Dragon fights, where he won a gold medal and in May he took part in the MMA Cymru Welsh Youth Championship and won a silver medal in his category.
Continuing his success Logan has also been selected to represent his country in the IMMAF World Championships in Abu Dhabi this August.
According to Logan’s mum Katie Price she said Logan has enjoyed sport from a young age. He started playing football and rugby for Monmouth before deciding to try MMA in 2022 when he was 12 years old.
“He instantly took a liking to it and showed good skills from the start,” said Katie.
His interest in MMA was pursued when he began training with Monmouth MMA at The Un1t in 2023 where he solely focused on martial arts, including MMA and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, committing to training to five days a week.
“He is very passionate about the sport and puts everything into it, now training at least 12 plus hours a week as he enjoys it so much. He also began teaching the younger students,” she said.
Looking ahead Logan is seeking sponsorship and would welcome donations to help fund his trip, as the event is entirely self-funded.
