Monmouth based charity Hands Around the World was today awarded the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service.

The annoucement is made on the anniversary of the Queen’s Coronation, today, June 2, and a notice has appeared in the London Gazette.

This is the highest award given to local volunteer groups and is described as the MBE for volunteers.
