Art Friends Gwent is pleased to announce a series of cultural events for the coming months.
The next event will be a lecture by Dr. Shelley Hayes, Academic Director of Recruitment and Admissions and Head of Classics, Ancient History, Religion and Theology at the University of Bristol. Dr. Hayes will deliver a talk on Greek Sculpture in Rome at the Lysaght Institute, Orb Road, Newport, on 5 February at 11:00 am. Looking ahead, Art Friends Gwent has organised two major excursions. In April, a group visit to the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, renowned for its outstanding collections of art and archaeology. This trip will include coach transport from Monmouth, providing members and guests with a convenient and enriching day outa d the opportunity to see the Bloom exhibition.
In May, an excursion to Compton Verney, a distinguished art gallery housed in a historic mansion and set within beautiful parkland. Coach transport from Monmouth will be provided for this event as well.
Art Friends Gwent welcomes both members and non-members to participate in these events, which are designed to foster appreciation for the arts and provide opportunities for cultural enrichment within the community.
