Several businesses in Monmouth are to be included on Google as part of a 'business tours' feature.

Launched in 2011, the business tours allow customers to take a 360 tour around a shop, restaurant or cafe before they visit.

Harts, the lingerie shop on Monnow Street, said: "A Google-approved ageny came to visit us and showed us what would be featured in the business photos.

"We were impressed, so booked in for a photo shoot. The photographer took pictures of the outside of the shop, the swimwear section and the lingerie upstairs.

"I think the business tours are particularly handy if you have a smart phone and can access images of the shop before you visit and I feel it's exceptionally good for restaurant businesses."

Sharon Brace, owner of the Pocket Bakery, said: "I get a lot of interest from cake decorating groups online, so when I heard about the business tour, I felt it important to take part.

"I'm hoping that the business tours will have a positive impact on our bakery.

"I think the business tours will bring a more professional slant to the company. Our bakery is very visual, and we're hoping that will come across online."
