I’m writing to the people of Monmouthshire today to update you on the work that I’m undertaking as your local Member of the Senedd.
The announcement that Wales was moving into Tier 4 restrictions on Saturday was hugely alarming for communities and businesses across the county and I want to assure you all that my office and I remain committed to doing whatever we can to help you and your loved ones through this pandemic.
In the last 24 hours, I have written to each government minister to raise concerns about the impact of the latest restrictions on our lives and to request that funding to support our communities and businesses is forthcoming as a matter of urgency.
I have also raised issues in terms of the impact that this will have on our local NHS services, our rural enterprises, our children and young people (and what this means for the next academic term), our local services and our businesses.
I want to make it crystal clear to every person living in Monmouthshire that my team and I will leave no stone unturned in raising the concerns you have with Welsh government ministers. We remain committed to helping you in whatever way we can. Therefore, if you need support on a local issue, then please contact my office – my staff and I will endeavour to help you in any way we can.
Together we can get through this.
In the meantime, please remember to adhere to the latest government guidance and maintain regular handwashing, social distancing and where possible, please remain at home.
