MADAM,
Congratulations to all who took part in the wonderful variety concert held at Bridges Community Centre, now in their new home in Drybridge House.
I was employed at Drybridge House when it was the local authority home for the elderly and well remember the very regular visits Ena and Alan Lightly made, Alan entertaining the ladies and gentlemen who resided there and Ena whose lovely kind manner, chatting and doing many things for them, Alan playing the organ and singing in his own special way. There were the sing alongs when all knew the words of the old favourites, parties, fancy dress - you name it, Ena and Alan always came along to make the event special.
We in our community are so fortunate to have them and they are still after all this time making such a great contribution to the older residents of the town who attend Bridges.
Anyone who has not popped into Drybridge House since the wonderful makeover should go along - I am sure they will be amazed
