Monmouth's Friday and Saturday markets will stay in Blestium Street if recommendations put forward to Monmouthshire County Council's (MCC) cabinet are accepted.

A report, by deputy chief executive Moyna Wilkinson, suggests "the more general market continues to operate from the car park" while a Saturday market for smaller stalls is 're-established' at the Shire Hall.

The markets were moved to the car park in 2008 to accommodate the refurbishment of the Shire Hall.
