Sir,

I refer to Mark Morris's letter 'More flooding to come if the LDP plan goes ahead'.

There is an interesting letter from a Christine Handson in the Daily Telegraph of 3rd December and I make no comment:  "Surely newly-built houses that have been constructed on a flood-risk area should be insured by the local authority that allowed the development in the first instance.

"To make an authority liable would make a difference to its approving developments in unsuitable locations."
