AN articulated lorry found itself in a tight spot last week after a diversion took it through Osbaston.
The lorry became stuck at the top of Duchess Road at 4.30am on Wednesday 22nd November after being directed there by an on-board satellite navigation system.
The driver had been diverted from Hereford due to bridge closures at Ross on Wye and found himself unable to continue down the Hereford Road due to height restrictions caused by the HMSG bridge.
His navigation system diverted him into Osbaston and then down Duchess Road.
Unable to exit onto St Mary’s Road, he skilfully reversed back up Duchess Road and turned round using Duchess Close.
It was when he tried to exit right onto Highfield Road that he lost traction and became wedged on the corner.
Damage was caused to a garden wall and shrubs had to be removed on Highfield Road to enable rescue.
A tow truck arrived and was able to successfully pull the lorry free enabling it to resume its journey.
