Two soldiers who are based locally in Chepstow have just received the Military Cross for bravery in Afghanistan. One officer has received a DSO.

Acting Serjeant Mark Powis (26) has been awarded the Military Cross for saving the life of an Army Commander during intense fighting in Afghanistan.

Fearless soldier, Acting Corporal Sean Keenan (25) based in Chepstow has been awarded the Military Cross for his heroic actions in going to the aid of injured colleagues whilst wounded himself during an ambush in Afghanistan.
