People reading the Monmouthshire Beacon may remember a letter that I had published in its 22 July 2026 edition. It highlighted the dreadful cruelty and ill treatment sustained by captive elephants in India and the wonderful work Wildlife SOS engage in to rescue, heal, rehabilitate and conserve the species. Wildlife SOS are touring the UK this October 2026  and will be at eight venues, in total, offering people a rare glimpse into the world of wildlife rescue and conservation in India. On 3 October, Wildlife SOS will be in North Wales at Anglesey Sea Zoo, from 10.30 -- 16.00 BST, where they will be joined by their conservation partners, Anglesey Sea Zoo, for a special day celebrating wildlife conservation in Wales and India. I hope you can pop along to one or another venue. It should be very interesting and enlightening and raise people's awareness of the crisis facing our wildlife, not just in Wales, England and Scotland, but in India also.
