On August 22nd, members of Monmouth Squash Club's junior section took part in the first ever Squash Wales junior team event at Newport Squash club.
The members were asked to represent the club after excelling in the recent squash camp.
The results of the camp proved to be a success as the under 11s finished a very respectable third place out of seven, behind some of the best players Wales has to offer.
The under 9 team finished overall winners after beating all of their opponents on the day.
Monmouth Squash Club coach Gareth Hughes Jones was at the event and would like to commend the players for their attitude throughout the day.
"Even when the going got tough, each of the players stood their ground, and dug deep to clinch a victory," he said.
"The club and parents can be very proud of their little players.
"After a successful weekend, the future is looking bright for squash in the area."
