THE Friends of Home-Start held its launch event on Wednesday 11th February at Bridges Community Centre.

Home-Start is a charity that supports struggling families living in Monmouthshire.

Offering advice and guidance to those who are experiencing stress or difficulties, Home-Start is helped by volunteers who visit families in their homes. The aim is to help prevent family breakdown to keep the group together.

The Friends group is made up of people who want to help support the work Home-Start carries out.

This includes attending fund raising events, spreading the word about the work of the charity, sharing skills and expertise and assisting in the organisation of future events.

Key members of staff from the charity were joined by a number of dignitaries at the launch in Bridges' Ballroom on Wednesday afternoon.

Jill Hiscox, chair of trustees, said she was delighted by the enthusiasm of all those present and was confident that the support of the Friends group would make a real difference to Home-Start Monmouthshire.

If anyone is interested in becoming a friend of the charity or finding out more about its work, they can contact Home-Start on 01600 715608, email enquiries@homestartmonmouthshire.
