Five long heavy loads will be leaving Mabey Bridge's Newhouse site in Chepstow on Monday 8th September and Tuesday 9th September. The loads are steel girders up to 35.5m in length and weighing up to 57.5 tonnes, bound for the Friargate regeneration project in Coventry. Three of the loads will leave the site on Monday at 14.00, 16.00, and 18.00, and the final two loads will depart Tuesday at 14.00 and 16.00. The loads will go through the M48 roundabout and join at Junction 2. Jeff Parry, Logistics Co-ordinator at Mabey Bridge said "While these loads are indeed large, they are typical of the major steel structures we manufacture in Chepstow and we are very experienced at ensuring we create as little traffic disruption as possible. We anticipate only minor temporary disruption, but advise local residences and businesses to take these scheduled movements into consideration."
