HELMET Hair in Church Street is offering a day of free haircuts on Saturday 6th June, in return for a donation towards their defibrillator fundraising efforts.

It marks their 10th year of trading and what better way to celebrate than donating a day's work to a good cause.

Darren Childs decided to raise funds for a defibrillator outside his shop after a man collapsed in the street close to his premises.

He has raised sufficient funds for one, but now plans to get another placed at the bottom end of town at Handyman House after speaking to Mark Parker, from of the business.

Darren said he has persuaded a friend to have his beard shaved off to kickstart the fundraising day.

"He has had his beard a long time, but will let us shave it off at 11am on our tenth anniversary," said Darren.

"Anyone who wants to pop in for a free trim is welcome, just give us a donation towards our second defibrillator!"
