HABERDASHERS’ Monmouth School is delighted to introduce its Senior Prefect Team for the 2026-27 academic year, a group of committed, talented and ambitious pupils who will help shape student life across school over the coming academic year.

Led by Head Students Juniper H and Oscar F, the team will work to strengthen student voice, foster belonging, support younger pupils and create opportunities that bring the whole school community together.

This year’s prefect team reflects the breadth of talent found across the School. Among them are sports captains, scholars, boarders, advocates for inclusion, aspiring medics and historians, all united by a desire to make a positive difference to the lives of others.

For Head Boy and boarder Oscar, leadership is first and foremost about service.

“I aspire to be a supportive and reliable Head Boy who delivers results he says. My goal is to serve our community by lifting others up with opportunities that will drive our school forward.”

Oscar hopes to strengthen the sense of shared identity across the school’s sites, building a culture rooted in ambition and gratitude.

“Always aspire,” is his, message to younger pupils. “Be brave with your time, bold in your pursuits and appreciative of the anchor that Monmouth provides.”

Alongside him, Head Girl Juniper is focused on ensuring every pupil feels heard and represented.

“Most importantly, I want to be approachable,” she explains. “For our Prefect Team to make a positive impact, pupils of all ages need to know that their ideas and concerns will find listening ears.”

A key priority for Juniper is strengthening the relationship between the Sixth Form and the rest of the school.

“Having familiar faces in different year groups is crucial for our school’s welcoming nature,” she says. “I think enhancing those connections has a real potential to make Monmouth even more friendly.”

The pair will guide a student leadership team whose priorities include strengthening communication, increasing Prefect visibility, developing mentoring opportunities and ensuring pupils play an active role in shaping school life.

Supporting Juniper and Oscar are Deputy Head Girl Eleanor W and Deputy Head Boy Olly B. Eleanor combines her leadership role with a focus on pupil wellbeing, while Olly brings experience as a Rugby 1st captain and a reputation as an outstanding all-round contributor to school life.

The four Heads of House will continue to champion house spirit, participation and community:

Grace L, Head of Bagnall Oakeley and Neurodiversity Champion

Jessica L, Head of Imbert Terry

Lauren H, Head of Mather Jackson

Ffion H, Head of Prosser and Wellbeing Liaison

Together they lead competitions, charitable initiatives and opportunities that encourage pupils of all ages to get involved in school life.
